Things Lately....

One of the best parts about being part of an embassy community is that there is always something fun going on! A few weeks ago the embassy held a Field Day to raise money for a local charity. Remember Field Day from elementary school? Unfortunately I never won any events when I was younger and that tradition carries on today. I was partners with my awesome friend Jessica and Jesse partnered up with another expat for the games. One of my favorite parts of the day was the costume contest. Jessica and I used flowers and plants from my yard to create our very own Hula outfits. You wouldn't believe how difficult it is to glue fresh flowers with super glue! We didn't win the contest but we had tons of fun designing our costumes.

We also had lots of laughs playing the games.

Some of the events included:
The Water Balloon Hold
The potato sack race:

And, of course, the dizzy bat race:
Although neither of our teams won, we had an amazing time! We ended the day with some good, old fashioned slip and slide!
