Hello Monday!

Monday just wouldn’t be the same without a bunch of randomness , so here goes.

-We had a pretty good weekend even though we didn’t do a whole lot.

-Jesse had a Marine function to go to on Thursday night. Emerson and I stayed home and had a girls night. Smile

-On Friday we managed to make it to the grocery store before it got too crowded. We stocked up, which means no more takeout for us!  I have a few fun recipes I plan on trying out this week.

-We had the Marines over on Friday night for a barbecue. After we ate, we all headed to the pool. Since it’s starting to cool off a little bit, the pool actually feels really nice. Emerson loved it, as usual.

-Speaking of my little cupcake, she is still not sleeping well, which means we’re not getting a whole lot of sleep either.  I hate to say it but I think it’s time to move her to her crib. She naps in it during the day and she seems so much more comfortable in it than the Pack N’ Play. We may try it tonight and see how it goes. Don’t judge me if I sleep on the floor in her room for the first few nights. I kid, I kid. Sort of…

-I made these delicious baked apples in the crockpot on Saturday. Oh my goodness- they were SO good! They may not be the healthiest but they are oh so yummy! It doesn’t help that Baskin Robbins is literally a block away. Jesse insisted that we needed vanilla ice cream for the apples. Of course, I didn’t really protest and I have to admit that it made the apples even better. Even though it’s still 100 degrees outside, we enjoyed our “fall treat.”

Old Fashioned Slow Cooker Baked Apples

-I finally began the arduous task of uploading all of our pictures to an online photo site. I have them backed up on an external hard drive but I don’t fully trust it. I dropped one last year and we lost thousands of pictures so I think it’s better safe than sorry.  I would be heartbroken if I lost all of Emerson’s pictures. I’ve uploaded about 1,000 and I’m sure I have at least 10,000 more to go! Fun times!

-I spent most of yesterday sewing.  I made a crib sheet, another changing pad cover, some pillows, and a few other odds and ends. I am officially done with all of the sewing for Emerson’s room! My mom is making the crib skirt. Once she finishes it and sends it, the nursery will be done! I CAN’T wait to share it with y’all. I really love the way everything came together.

-Can I just say that I like Facetime so much better than Skype for video calls. It just seems to work better. In the last few days, we’ve been able to talk to my mom and also Barb, Gary, and little Matthew. He’s back in the hospital for another intense round of chemo. The good news is that he is in remission! Please keep praying for continued healing of our sweet boy and for strength for his parents.

-Tomorrow my sweetpea will be 5 months old! How is that possible?
