Finally… Emerson’s Nursery Revealed

I honestly didn’t know if this day would ever come! It’s been quite the process trying to find what I need. Sometimes I was able to find something easily, while other times I had to do online ordering and then wait for the super slow mail to get it here. Combine that with all the DIY projects and this was one slow process. But- I’m happy to say that it is finally done and I love how it turned out. I think it’s a room that Emerson can really grow into. You may remember that I originally planned on doing a light pink and gray nursery. I really wanted a romantic, girly feel. But somewhere along the way my entire vision changed and we ended up with a funky, eclectic pink and aqua nursery instead. The walls are gray but that’s about the only thing that stayed from my original plan.
I’ve taken a million pictures and I don’t think they quite do the room justice but they’re the best I could do. All of the shots with the windows are completely overexposed but I couldn’t get them to look any better. (If anything looks crooked I promise it’s not- I think I every picture I took was crooked!) I need to work on my photography skills but that’s not what this post is about.
So without further ado- my sweet girl’s nursery: (I apologize in advance for the 500 pictures that probably look exactly the same)

My absolute favorite part of the room- the window seat:

This pillow looks red but it’s really more hot pink/fuchsia.

And finally, the closets.
These wardrobes are built in. They may not be the prettiest but they are great for organization.

The bins and baskets hold bath stuff, headbands and hats, toys and other miscellaneous items. I also use them to store extra diapers and some of the clothes that are E can’t fit into right now.

Well guys- that’s it. If you hate it please don’t tell me because I might just cry!
The Breakdown:
We weren’t really able to do this room on a budget because there is no such thing as bargain shopping here. Even Ikea is roughly 30 percent more expensive than it is in the States (though it’s still relatively inexpensive.) I lost track of the total cost a long time ago but here are the links to everything in the room for those that are interested. You will quickly see that Ikea was my best friend when it came to decorating this nursery. All of the fabric is from the Dena Designs Kumari Garden line. I ordered all of it from Fabric.com and was very impressed with their customer service. I also have to admit that I got most of the inspiration for the room from Pinterest. It really is the best thing ever invented!

So beautiful. The best thing about it is you did not over do it. Clean, simple and tasteful ( though I'm sure your thinking it didn't feel simply ) the Window seat is to die for. Great job!

This room is beautiful! One question I have, does the window seat from Ikea actually hold the weight of a person? Or is it more for looks? I am looking for something just like this, but I need it to hold the weight.
