Party Time

I've seen a few of my other blog friends joining in on the Ultimate Blog Party so I thought I would too. I'm always looking for new blogs to read and I love getting new visitors!

So, here's a little bit about me and this little ol' blog.

My name is Tami and I am a Marine wife to Jesse and a mommy to sweet little Emerson.

I started this blog almost two years ago when Jesse and I started our first overseas tour in Africa. It started as a way to keep our friends and family in the loop about our life overseas but it has turned into so much more than that. I have shared some of our travels, documented my pregnancy and Emerson's birth, my quest to shed the baby weight, and everything in between.  As silly as it may sound to outsiders, blogging has become one of my favorite hobbies and I am so glad I started! It kept me sane while we were in Africa and there was nothing to do and it has helped me document Emerson's first year. It's probably one of the best things I've ever done.

So- instead of doing a regular post about me I thought I'd share a few random facts:

1. Jesse and I got married right before my 20th birthday. Yes- I was 19. I know it sounds crazy but it all worked out for the best and I wouldn't change a thing. And no- Emerson will not be getting married young. She will be at least 30 before she is even allowed to date. ;)

2. I am super claustrophobic and completely freaked out on the Mission Space ride at Disney World.  I'm talking full on panic attack- banging on the doors and yelling to be let out. Needless to say, they didn't let me out and I survived... barely.

3. We are currently finishing a 3 year tour overseas. It's been a fun adventure but we are ready to get back home.

4. My parents are divorced and remarried and my Mom and I have the same married last name. Crazy, huh? It's always interesting trying to explain that one when we introduce ourselves. :)

5. I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education and I taught for 4 years. Right now I am so thankful to be a stay-at-home Momma but I may eventually return to work. I have no idea what I want to do but I don't think I want to go back to the classroom.

6. I hold onto clothes for way too long. I seriously have a few pants and shirts that are at least 8 years old. When we get back to the States it will be time for a major closet overhaul.

7. I'm a worrier. I worry about things that are completely beyond my control and sometimes silly. I've been trying my best to turn those worries over to God instead of holding onto them.

8. I am a picture taking fanatic! Emerson is the subject of most of my photos and by far the cutest. ;)

And now that you know a few completely useless facts about me, here are just a few of my favorite posts from the last two years:

Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of blog land!
