Baby Talk

Today I'm linking up with Becky for Show and Tell: Baby Talk. Since the moment we decided that we were ready for babies, I've been pretty obsessed with them. So this link-up is perfect for me! :)

1. Tell us your favorite baby names? Aside from your own babies, if you have some :)
I love thinking about baby names! I have a really long list of names I like but I don't have any favorites narrowed down. Here's my list (in no particular order and it includes some names that I like but won't use because they sound terrible with our last name!) Overall I would say that I lean towards more non-traditional names and I have no problem with unisex names. (Hello, Emerson!) ;)

2. Show me your "dream" nursery. It can be your baby's nursery or one that you love.
I absolutely love the way Emerson's nursery turned out and it  is my favorite room in our house. (Go here for the rest of the pictures.)

That being said, I know for sure I'll want to do something totally different if we have another girl. Here is a recent girl nursery I love:

And here is one of my favorite little boy nurseries:
I'm slightly obsessed with nurseries so I have a whole board full of nursery pins on Pinterest that you can find here.

3. How many children would you like to have? How far apart?
This is the million dollar question! :) Before I had Emerson I always thought I would want a max of two kiddos but now that I know how much fun sweet babies are, I would love to have three. Jesse says we are stopping at two though so I guess we will just wait and see. When it comes to how far apart I want them I haven't really decided. I wrote this post a few months ago about my serious baby fever. Now it pretty much varies from day to day. Some days I get super excited about the idea of Emerson having a sibling close in age but other days I think it would be neat to spread them out so that she would be a little more independent when the next one comes along. We are also trying to plan around our move back to the United States and the decision of whether I will return to work. There's so many factors to consider and I feel like I will never make up my mind as to when the time is right for baby #2! I almost feel like it's a harder decision than it was to have a first.

4. Tell us what you think the importance of parenting is?
Well, is there anything more important in my life than being a parent? I don't think so. I know for sure that being a Mom is the most important and special job I have ever been given and I certainly don't take the responsibility lightly. Every single day I pray that I will be the kind of mother that Emerson needs and deserves. I pray that I will teach her to be kind and smart, giving, and loving and maybe even a little bit fearless. I know that I'm not, and never will be, a perfect mother, but I hope that Emerson will always know just how much she is loved and wanted.

5. Show us your favorite newborn photo {can be your children or random}
My absolute favorites are the professional ones we had done when she was a week old. Unfortunately I don't have the digital rights to them so I can't post them here! But here are a few of my favorites from the hospital.
(And I just have to say that looking at these brought back my baby fever BIG TIME! )  ;)

6.  Tell us some things you promise to never do as a parent (and if you are a parent, did you stick with them?)
One of the first things I learned after becoming a parent is never say never! I've done so many things that I said I'd never do that I wrote a whole post about it back in May. You can read it here.

Well I guess that's it for the baby talk today. I'm off to stare at my sweet sleeping babe.

Those nurseries, especially yours are gorgeous! It's so hard not to get caught up daydreaming about future baby rooms. I like many of the names on your list; we really struggled with boy names. And those newborn pictures of her are too precious.

What a fun post, but it really does give you baby fever! One the how far apart would you have your kids: I recently decided to start trying again when my little man is about 3. I definitely need him to be more independent, he is such a mommas boy and I am usually caring for him alone. But, I always to say to each their own. Something my dad always said!

I seriously love your baby names! I tell my husband I love the name Harrison but would hate for the boy to be called Harry. The rooms are awesome!

Love the little boy nursery! I have a small list of names if we have a #2 but I love your list too!

CORBIN is an awesome name! It's my great grandmother's maiden name and the name I gave one of my twins!! So happy to see it get the recognition it deserves!
