Christmas Eve Happenings

It was almost 80 degrees on Christmas Eve so Emerson didn't even need a sweater over her precious little dress. She was so thrilled to put it on for church and kept spinning around to make it twirl.

Our Christmas Eve service was held at an outdoor amphitheater and it was perfect! I loved how sweet Emerson looked while waiting for the service to begin.

The service was awesome though I do have to admit I spent most of it trying to make sure Emerson was sitting down. During the music at the beginning the kids were down at the front dancing. Once it was time for the pastor to speak Emerson did not want to sit down and we had a slight little meltdown. Luckily we recovered and were able to enjoy the rest of the service. I loved that it was outdoors- it was so fitting for southern California and I look forward to it becoming a new tradition.

After church we continued our tradition of letting Emerson open one gift.

She got a Lite Brite from her aunt and uncle and was absolutely thrilled.
After playing for a while we decided it was time to put out milk and cookies for Santa. We also added a few carrots in for the reindeer.

Once our sweet girl went to bed, Santa was finally able to pay a visit. I don't think we got much sleep that night as we anticipated the joy of Christmas morning.

It just keeps getting better every year!

I'm so jealous of your weather! I like snow for Christmas but after that it can go! I'm sure it will stick around until March…ick.
