This Past Week

Do you ever feel like the weeks are passing by in the blink of an eye? They definitely are for me! As ready as I am for our sweet Adelyn to be here, I'm also trying to enjoy every last minute with my family just the way it is now. We haven't been doing anything too exciting, but I do have some pictures to share. I'm sure you can guess who is in 99.9% of them. :)

-So, this is what the weather has been looking like around here. Just cold enough for a light jacket and boots at night and then absolutely beautiful during the day.  I definitely cannot complain!

-My little Target buddy has pretty much come to expect that we WILL get popcorn anytime we go to Target.  I really think she's starting to love Target even more than I do.

-We've spent quite a bit of time at the playground lately. She's pretty good about playing by herself but she just loves when other kiddos come to play.

-I've had a little doctor's appointment buddy for the last 4 appointments. Luckily the office staff and my doctor are very nice and they are super sweet with Emerson. My doctor lets her help with the doppler each time and E really looks forward to it. I also come with a purse full of snacks, which she quickly devours before we even make it to the exam room.

-I keep saying that I'm going to stop buying Emerson toys and I actually need to get serious about it because these are the kinds of things she'd rather play with. I got a sample of soaps and stuff from The Honest Co. and Emerson has been carrying around and playing with the little bottles for the last week. Here she was telling me about the dinner she had made. She has quite the little imagination!

-I can't get over how big she looks in this picture.

-Bedtime has become E's least favorite time of day. About an hour beforehand she'll start asking, "It's not bedtime yet." over and over.  We decided to add in a little extra playtime in her room before bed to help make the transition a little bit easier. I can't say that it's actually helping with getting her into bed but we've definitely enjoyed it.

-I just couldn't say no to that sweet smile so we may have had ice cream more than once this week.

-Daddy and Emerson had their own version of a Rock Band jam session this weekend. Can you tell that she loved it?

-E got some gift cards for Christmas so I thought it would be fun to take her to Toys R Us to pick something out. She loved just walking around and looking at everything. Her favorites were the Power Wheels toys. She climbed right in the little Mustang and said, "Please, momma, please!"

This one is blurry but I still love it. Look at that face!

-My mom sent this picture of me at about age 4. I for sure have a little mini-me on my hands! I can't wait to see who Adelyn will look like!

-I actually got out my big camera and got a few shots of Emerson (using bribery with m&ms) before church. I'll share those soon, but in the meantime here are two of my favorites from my phone. It's really a shame that our girl has no personality whatsoever!

Besides this, I've still been cleaning and organizing like a crazy person. I just cannot sit still. I know I should be resting while I can but I am just so anxious to meet our girl.  Not much longer now...

I am super jealous of your weather!! TN has been cold and dreary the last couple of weeks. Emerson is definitely a mini-me of you! So cute! You better get some rest!! :)

I just can't get over how much she looks like you. So fun to have a little mini-me, tho - huh?

I have no idea how you said no to those power wheels...her sweet face would have made me cave. haha

Yes, the weeks are going by so fast! I really didn't realize that time went even more quickly with a baby. How nice that Emerson got to help at your appointments! I bet that made her feel so included. She is totally your mini me! I can't wait for your sweet Adelyn to arrive!

We love Target too. Looks like she likes the popcorn as you shop, but I recently learned if you get a sticker at checkout (my son knows to ask for one now) and take that sticker to the snack bar, you get a free cup of popcorn. Enjoy these last few days with your first born! Can't wait to hear that Adelyn is here!
