Our Thrifty Living Room

I've been wanting to share pictures of our living room since I finished the gallery wall last year, but I never got around to actually taking the photos. Luckily, we had professional photos taken when we listed the house. I know they are way better than anything I could have taken so I'm excited to share.
One of my favorite parts about our living room is that about 90 percent of the furniture and decor is second hand! We scored the like new Ikea Ektorp couch and love seat from Craigslist for $150! With washable slipcovers, this was truly a great deal.  The coffee table was handmade by a local craftsman and I bought if from a Marine who was moving. The lamps, industrial shelf (with decor) and end table also came from the same person. She gave me a great deal because I bought most of what she was selling. I also scored the leather chairs from our local buy-sell-trade page. The window is from the flea market and the wreath was 50 cents at Emerson's school fundraiser garage sale.  I think my biggest splurge in the room was the large rug from Target, but of course I got it on sale too. I think this just goes to show that you don't have to spend a ton of money to have a room that you love.  Of all the room in our home, this will be the one I miss the most.

These chairs are my favorite! The leather is buttery soft and I love sitting here drinking coffee and reading. I hope we have room for them in our next house!

And here a couple of shots of my favorite part of the room: the gallery wall.
I tried to choose pieces that have meaning for us. The large world map represents are time overseas and the places we have traveled. I had to have Texas as it will always be home.  There are also some of my favorite pictures from Jesse's homecoming and Adelyn's newborn shoot. I had this gallery wall in my head for months so I was beyond thrilled to see it come together. (And I'm more than a little sad to be taking it down to pack soon.)
